While hiking with a group in Alaska, our guide advised us on what to do in case we encountered a bear.  He said that we were suppose to link our arms together so that we would appear larger than the bear.  When I think back on that advice, I realize how relevant that is to other areas in our lives.  When we link together , we become bigger than any obstacle we face.

Coming together is essential to our survival.  We are indeed stronger when linked together.  We need to commit to gathering together, getting to know each other; getting to know the needs of the other and the needs of the community.  As we gathered together for our 2nd Girl’s Night Out, I listened as the women got to know each other.  They talked to each other about their passions; both for themselves and for the community.  They connected with each other and discovered how one could help the other.  That was a wonderful thing to witness as I saw them commit to investing in each other.

This is what we need to do…We need to link up, invest in each other, support each other and build our communities back; stronger.  We can do so much more together than we can as individuals and now is the time for us to do this.  If not now, then when? If not us, then who?  We are the light in our communities and that light does us no good if we do not share it with others.  We must spread love by being love and spread light by being light.
